NEWFOUNDLAND Pensioners' Group
Quinte 'Commercial' Retiree Group
October 25, 2024
Hi there. Our Group started about a year ago.
Bank of Montreal Pensioner Association (BOMPA) - A Historical Perspective
In the late 1970s the first Bank of Montreal Pensioners Association was formed to promote the interests of retired employees ( and their spouses) residing in the Greater Vancouver area. The objective was to keep members up-to-date about issues that might affect them (such as benefits etc.) as well as fostering goodwill, maintaining contact with former co-workers, making new friends and participating in some planned social activities. We are still active and committed to those objectives.
Subsequently, other 'chapters' were started in the Okanagan and on Vancouver Island as well as in other provinces across Canada. All the BC chapters are still very active, meeting on a regular basis and having social activities of interest to their members.
BOMPA is open to all former employees and their spouses. By becoming a member, you will receive a regular communication bulletin that provides you with information of interest including upcoming social activities scheduled for your area. If you are not already a member, we encourage you to become one and participate to the extent that works best for you. The leadership of the various pensioner associations would be pleased to hear from you and let you know what it takes to become a member of their particular association.
